edTPA Mid–Atlantic Implementation Conference 2013

The edTPA Mid-Atlantic Implementation Conference will held June 28, 2013 and will provide annual support to Institutes of Higher Education (IHEs) and partners to implement edTPA effectively in order to improve teacher candidate readiness to teach as well as teacher education program (TEP) improvement. Ultimately, this conference will support the national edTPA mission to professionalize the field of teaching by maintaining high standards of accountability and standards through edTPA’s rigorous, authentic, performance-based assessment.

Interested and participating IHEs will attend and/or contribute to informational, logistical, and practical sessions to guide edTPA implementation. While this conference will be available nationally, participation will target IHEs in the Mid-Atlantic region including Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. Sessions will range from introductory (e.g. What is edTPA? Why do it?) to those addressing specifics of long-term implementation (e.g. Local Evaluation and Feedback, Susatinability). The annual participation of Mid-Atlantic IHEs will also create a regional network for ongoing support during the academic year.
