2017 edTPA® Annual Administrative Report

The Educative Assessment and Meaningful Support: 2017 edTPA Administrative Report is now publicly available. The report describes edTPA’s continued expansion and support as the first nationally available performance-based assessment and support system for entry level educators. Of the 39,566 15-rubric handbook portfolios scored, 86% were submitted in states where edTPA is required for initial educator licensure, certification, or program completion/program approval. Findings and analyses are presented in the report to reaffirm reliability and consistency of scoring, examine evidence of validity, and document trends in candidate performance.

edTPA has been used operationally to assess teacher candidates since fall 2013 and is now used in 41 states. Membership in the edTPA online community, first launched in 2011, has grown to about 10,300 faculty from more than 790 educator preparation programs. The extensive support infrastructure available to edTPA members includes more than 175 resources that have been downloaded more than 1.3 million times.

2018-2019 Elementary Education Options

As a reminder, the 2018-19 national handbooks, templates, and support resources (URLPs, Making Good Choices, and academic language handouts) for all subject areas except Elementary Education are available for download in the Pearson ePortfolio Platform and other integrated platform providers.

Fall 2018 edTPA Handbook & Templates Posted

The 2018-19 national handbooks, templates, and support resources (except for ELE) have now been posted in the AACTE Resource Library as an advance resource for programs. All materials for all fields will be available for candidates to use for submissions through the platform providers beginning in September 2018.

Overall, there are no changes to national edTPA handbook content for all subject areas, and virtually no changes to support resources. Minimal formatting updates have been made to make these documents accessibility-friendly. We encourage you to check the errata, which are updated on a regular basis, to see a list of minor subject-specific corrections and clarifications.
